Richmond Hill
- Richmond Hill is one of 53% of cities with a park system master plan updated within the last 10 years.
- Richmond Hill is above average for percentage of parkland that is natural area at 66%.
- Richmond Hill is one of 67% of cities with a climate change action plan that includes parks.
- Richmond Hill’s Mill Pond Park Revitalization Plan, currently under development, will take a phased approach to enhancing the beloved nature park and its stormwater management features. As part of the consultation process, the city held a virtual walking tour survey, with QR code signage placed throughout the park to invite residents to share their visions for the space.
- The city released its Parks and Urban Forestry Achievements, which include that 17,170 trees were planted and 7.8 hectares were restored across the city in 2021.
- The Adventure Series provides youth with unique opportunities to develop outdoor skills through programs in Richmond Hill parks including fire and shelter building, archery, survival skills, rock climbing and high ropes.
